Project Objective – OZYCA
The disruptive technology, as it is called, available with the existing ride sharing and cab hailing companies, who have made a mark in the new tech savvy world existing in the present industry. With their advent, the existing and established cab/taxi industry took a hit as they were and still not ready with the latest technology.
- All the existing Cab companies have their own running businesses and have their own fleet and drivers. They operate by conventional telephonic call landing in their office for hiring of the cab and/or their website and company mobile apps. Thereafter, once contacted, the office dispatch coordinator arranges for the required vehicle and available driver to go out and service the rider. This process is presently being done through a closed radio network and/or conventional telephone system. CALLING, HAILING AND MANAGING THE FLEET AND DRIVERS IN REAL TIME IS NOT YET AVAILABLE ON THEIR EXISTING APPS/WEBSITE.
- All these operating companies have their own fare structures, i.e. they charge differently for say same distance viz a viz their competition thus making it a challenge for the riders to pick and chose the cab provider, sometimes leaving them with no choice but to pay higher fares.
- They all use CASH system and carry Swipe machines for taking payments by card (which are just 20% of the total rides)
- Once these cabs are hailed and if subsequently their services are cancelled, they do not have any mechanism/ recourse to cancellation charges and thus suffer losses on cancellation
- Many a times, some of the riders, once they reach their destination, are too inebriated to handle payments. Thus getting money from them becomes difficult and maybe forgo the amount, thus suffering losses.
